Curriculum Vitae of Mr. Ashud Ahmed


Ambassador Mr. Ashud Ahmed is a career diplomat, joined Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dhaka on 25 April 1994. 

He served at different political desks at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as well as Bangladesh Missions abroad. In Bangladesh Missions abroad he served as Consul General of Bangladesh in Hong Kong, Deputy Chief of Mission in Brussels, Counsellor in Colombo and First Secretary in New York. He served in the Ministry as Deputy Chief of Protocol and Director of Europe Wing and as Assistant Secretary at Protocol and International Organizations Wings.

Prior to his appointment as Ambassador of Bangladesh to the Hellenic Republic and as non-resident Ambassador of Bangladesh to Albania and Malta, he served as Bangladesh Ambassador to the State of Qatar. He also worked as Director General of Administration, East Asia and Pacific and South-East Asia Wings at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

He obtained his Bachelor Degree with Honours and Master’s degree in International Relations from the University of Dhaka in 1988 and 1989 respectively. He participated in Foundation Training course designed for civil servants of Bangladesh at Bangladesh Public Administration Training Centre, Savar, Dhaka in 1996 and specialised diplomatic Training Programme at Foreign Service academy, Dhaka in 1997. He also undertook different trainings programs designed for diplomats at home and abroad including taking part in the Transnational Security Cooperation workshop at the Asia Pacific Centre for Security Studies (APCSS), Honolulu, Hawaii, USA in the year 2013, diplomatic training programme in New Delhi, India in 1998 and Development Programme for civil servants in Korea in 2006.

Mr. Ashud Ahmed was awarded ‘Al Wajbah Decoration’ by His Highness the Amir of the State of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani in recognition of Mr. Ahmed’s role in enhancing relations between Qatar and Bangladesh. 

Mr. Ashud Ahmed is married to Rebeka Sultana. They are blessed with two sons.
